Mobile Kitchen Trailer Rental FAQ: Terms, Power, Permits and Setup

Emergency Commercial Mobile Kitchen Service rents mobile commercial kitchen trailers, with commercial dishwashing trailers and emergency refrigerated trailers as supporting services, and these are the questions customers ask most. They cover emergency food service and planned renovation or construction rentals, from one week to monthly terms and long-term leases. Hospitals, schools, institutions and contractors use the answers to prepare. We coordinate delivery, placement and setup with your team. We deliver nationwide, including to Tacoma and Boise City. Call or request a quote if your question is not here.

Questions are grouped below. For anything else, call the 24-hour line.

From an interruption to a working routine.

If the kitchen closes unexpectedly

Unplanned closures arrive at the worst time. Describe the failure and the site on the phone, and we match kitchen trailer rentals to the menu, the crew and the connections you have. Delivery time depends on the unit, the location and conditions, and is confirmed when you call. We take emergency calls from Spokane to Missoula and everywhere between: the line is open at any hour, and the first questions are how many people eat and what survived.

Keep photos of the failure and the utility connections; they help the health authority and your insurer as well as us.

While construction moves

Construction changes where a kitchen can sit from week to week. Tell us the phasing, and we plan kitchen trailer rentals around gates, haul roads and utility tie-ins, so the trailer is not moved twice. Monthly terms follow the project rather than a fixed calendar.

If power is temporary, size it for the model: a kitchen trailer on 220V single phase needs 200A or more, and a dishwashing trailer can need up to 300A. We deliver kitchens to large sites around Juneau and Los Angeles; the pad has to survive phasing, and the crew eats at odd hours.

Before a renovation closure

Renovations run on a closure date. Work backward from it: when must meals continue, when will utilities be ready, when does the inspection happen. We help line up kitchen trailer rentals, the pad and the connections against that date, and leave room for the schedule to slip.

Walk the trailer with your kitchen team before service starts, and agree who receives deliveries, who cooks and who washes on each shift.

At the trailer delivery entrance

Before kitchen trailer rentals are scheduled, we ask about the way in: gate width, turning radius, surface and who will be on site. Setup takes about 5 hours for a kitchen or dishwashing trailer and about 1 hour for a refrigerated trailer once it is in place. Gates, overhead lines and soft ground cause more delivery trouble than distance, for sites around San Jose and Henderson alike.

Ramps take about 4 to 6 hours to set and stairs 5 to 15 minutes, so say early if the door needs either.

In the quote for the unit you rent

A written quote for kitchen trailer rentals states the equipment, the rental period, delivery, collection and setup terms and what is excluded. Starting prices are a guide and prices may vary; the written quote is what counts.

Read the rental costs page for the factors that move a quote, and the rental terms guide for periods and pickup. A quote for Spokane depends on the same few things as any other: the model, the term, delivery and setup.

What decides how well a rented kitchen works.

Most rentals that go well share the same habits. Settle these before the trailer is scheduled and the rest follows.

Prepare for arrival

Confirm the pad, the power and the water before the rental trailer is delivered.

Talk through an urgent need

If it cannot wait, call. The 24-hour line takes emergency and planned requests alike.

Keep the work connected

Rent the kitchen, dishwashing and cold storage together so they share one power and water plan.

Match the rental period

Rentals run from one week to monthly, and long-term leasing is available; pick the period that covers the repair or the project with some margin. A renovation near Missoula may run a season while an outage near Juneau lasts days, and the same kind of kitchen covers both.

Choose the rental layout

Compare the equipment lists and power needs for kitchen trailer rentals on the model pages, then confirm the unit with us.

Plan service access

Service access covers the entry, the delivery point and the way wastewater leaves. Agree where suppliers unload, where the steps or ramp go and how the trailer will be collected, so nothing blocks a fire lane or an exit.

Beyond the kitchen: facilities for longer jobs

Plan the kitchen first; everything else is sized around kitchen trailer rentals. Crews on a long or remote job can add restroom trailer rentals, such as the Standalone Restroom Trailer, or bunk bed sleeper trailer rentals, such as the 20ft Contractor Accommodation Unit. Each model page lists its equipment and power, and we quote them on request. Start from the menu and the headcount, not the trailer; a kitchen for a site in Los Angeles is sized the same way as anywhere else.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can rent?

Commercial, institutional and public customers: hospitals, schools, correctional facilities, government agencies, hotels, caterers, contractors and similar operations. We do not rent to households or food trucks.

How long can I rent?

From one week to monthly terms, with long-term leases for renovations and projects that last months.

What power do the trailers need?

Kitchens: 220V single phase, 200A on the 24ft and 28ft models and 200 to 220A on larger ones. Check amps before anything else; power is the usual reason a delivery to San Jose slips a day. Dishwashing: 150A to 300A, with the 30ft conveyor unit on three-phase power. Refrigerated trailers: 220V single phase, 40 to 60A.

Do I need a permit?

The local health authority usually reviews a temporary kitchen, and rules vary by jurisdiction. We supply equipment lists for your submission.

How long does setup take?

About 5 hours for a kitchen or dishwashing trailer and about 1 hour for a refrigerated trailer once the unit is on site. A ramp takes 4 to 6 hours and stairs 5 to 15 minutes.

Is GPS tracking available?

It is possible on request.

Are you open at night and on weekends?

The line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Can you guarantee delivery time?

No. Delivery depends on the unit, the location and conditions, and is confirmed when you call.

Are the photos of the exact trailer?

They are working reference photos. Confirm the exact unit and configuration when you request a quote.

What areas do you cover?

Rentals are available across the USA. The guides so far cover 13 states: Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Alaska and Hawaii. See the service areas.
